China has been Zambia's all weather friend, Zambian former Prime Minister Malimba Masheke said Tuesday in Lusaka.

Speaking in an interview with the Zambia News and Information Services, Masheke said it is important that the relations between the two countries are maintained for mutual benefits.

While other countries were hesitant to assist Zambian development, China has been in the forefront in providing development assistance, said Masheke, also chairman of Universal, Peace Federation Interfaith Religious and International Federation for World Peace.

He pointed out that the Mass Media Complex in Lusaka, the Mongu - Kalabo road and the Serenje - Samfya Tuta road were all built with the support of China.
