The South Korean government announced Friday it has distributed 206 additional flight routes to China under a partial open-sky pact signed between the two neighbors in June.

The number of passenger flights from South Korea to China will rise from 204 flights on 33 routes weekly to 401 on 43 routes while the cargo flight routes will increase from 24 to 36 each week, the Ministry of Construction & Transportation said.

According to the ministry, South Korea's two flag carriers, the Korean Air and the Asiana Airlines, will separately raise the number of route to China, especially to Beijing and Shanghai.

The additional flight routes also include newly-opened routes linking Seoul and Chinese cities of Dalian, Shenzhen, Changsha and Yanji, the ministry said.
