A seminar on the People's Daily veteran journalist Huang Zequan's reports about Africa and a ceremony marking the publication of Huang's selected works about Africa were held in Beijing Friday.
Chen Haosu, president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries spoke highly of Huang's contributions to China-Africa friendship, calling him a "civil diplomat" who is committed to the cooperation and friendship between China and Africa.

Jiang Shaogao, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the People's Daily said Huang is a "people to people ambassador between China and Africa", saying his books and articles are the record of the evolution of Africa in past decades, and serve as a window for the Chinese people to know Africa.
Huang Zequan, dubbed as "China's No.1 expert on African problem", has published more than 1,400 articles in various newspapers and magazines, and translated and compiled 28 books about Africa, totaling 10 million words.
