Kenya to unveil lined-up on Friday as striker Oliech sick

Kenya's French coach Bernard Lama said Thursday in Nairobi that he will unveil his starting line up on Friday after a light training.

The former French goalkeeper made the announcement as it emerged that the east African nation's prolific striker, Dennis Oliech did not train with the national soccer team, Harambee Stars, due to illness.

Team officials confirmed that Oliech who turns out for French side Nantes FC did not train with the rest of the players after he suddenly fell ill on Thursday morning.

The officials, however, said the condition was not serious and he will be fit for Saturday's crucial match against Eritrea.

The Frenchman will be spoilt for choice in mid-field where he has Robert Mambo, John Muiruri, Macdonald Mariga, Titus Mulama, and Jamal Mohammed to choose from.

Arnold Origi is tipped to start in goal with Adan Shaaban and Julius Owino on the flanks.

Musa Otieno will be the linchpin in Kenya's defence.

Lama will also have a problem upfront and will be grappling with whom between Dennis Oliech, Bonventure Maruti, John Baraza, Oscar Kadenge and Moses Odhiambo to start with.

Meanwhile, the Red Sea Boys of Eritrea who arrived on Thursday said the team was in Saudi Arabia for four days and played one build-up match.

The Eritrean coach Dorian Marin admitted to having little knowledge about the Kenyan game and said his boys are ready to prove themselves come Saturday.

Marin has tipped Angola for the sole ticket from this group to the 2008 Nations Cup final.

The Eritrea side is primarily made up of local players compared to Kenya who have at least seven foreign-based players plying their trade in Europe.

Kenya defeated Eritrea 1-0 in their last encounter during the Confederation of East and Central Senior Challenge Cup (CECAFA) Nations Cup in 2001.

The East Africans play in Group Six, with Angola, Eritrea and Swaziland.
