Chinese exports of autos, parts to reach $70 bln by 2010
font size

In 2005, exports of assembled automobiles and parts in China reached US$10.9 billion in value, a share of less than 1 percent in the world market. Yet a 34 percent increase shows China's great export potential in this field. In 1995 exports of automobiles and parts in China were valued at US$1.45 billion, but the figure has grown by 40 percent annually for the last five years. The export of assembled vehicles grows by 70 percent each year. In the first half of this year, China exported 34,500 cars to 207 countries and regions, exceeding the total number of exports from last year. According to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the export of automobiles and parts will reach US$70 billion by the end of the 11th Five-year Plan.
