China establishes comprehensive sea rescue strategy
font size

China has established an initial three-dimensional salvage network, said a source at the Third China International Salvage Forum on Monday.

China's Rescue & Salvage Bureau has 3 professional rescue stations, 3 salvage stations, 4 flying rescue teams and 20 rescue bases along the coast.

China has bought 8 ARUN rescue motor boats since the middle of 2005 and these have been deployed in areas of heavy traffic. The boats are suitable for rescuing people or small ships trapped close to port or shore, particularly in shallow waters where other boats cannot go.

Some 94 percent of China's foreign trade arrives and departs by sea. Upgrading water security is an urgent matter. The current sea rescue strategy is professional, practical and well-informed.
