The Chinese Ministry of Public Security and Uzbekistan Ministry of the Interior signed a protocol of cooperation for the years 2006 to 2007 on Wednesday in Beijing.

Chinese State Councilor Zhou Yongkang and Uzbekistan Minister of the Interior Bahodir Matlubov signed the protocol after holding talks.

During the talks, Zhou, also Minister of Public Security, and Matlubov spoke highly of the friendly relations between the two countries.

They exchanged views and reached broad consensus on strengthening mutual trust between the two ministries and on promoting cooperation in anti-terrorism, anti-narcotics and in fighting cross-border crimes, as well as on police aid and training, according to Chinese sources.

Matlubov is here on a four-day visit to China, as guest of the Ministry of Public Security.
