British cabinet minister arrives in Hong Kong

Senior British cabinet minister Lord Falconer of Thoroton, secretary of State for Constitutional Affairs and Lord Chancellor, arrived here Wednesday night for a three-day visit.

During his stay, Lord Falconer will meet Donald Tsang Yam-kuen, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administration (HKSAR), Chief Justice Andrew Li and Secretary for Justice Wong Yan-lung of the HKSAR, according to a press release from the British Consulate- General in Hong Kong.

They will discuss the close links between the common law systems of Hong Kong and the U.K., said the press release, adding that the British minister will also visit Hong Kong's Technology Court to see how new technologies are being used to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of court procedures.
