font size

The second "China Trade Fair- 2006" is due to open in Kathmandu on Friday with the aim of recognizing Chinese quality goods in Nepal.

The first fair was held on April 2005.

"Nepali people will have a chance to purchase various quality goods including car, motorcycles, clothes, electronics and furniture in the fair," said Anoop Ranjan Bhattrai, president of Nepal China Executive Council, an organizer of the fair.

"We have also the goal of developing the fair as regional fair that enhances trade relation between China and South Asia," he told Xinhua.

"Although the fair is limited to serve Chinese goods to Nepali people, we want to attract more South Asian people here by developing the fair as big one in the days to come," he added.

Nepali Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, K.P. Sharma Oli is scheduled to inaugurate the fair amidst a function on Friday morning.

Chinese embassy and other business organizations including media are supporting the four-day event.
