Navy's radar troops exercise against enemy's air assaults

A mobile radar detachment of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy recently conducted an exercise somewhere offshore.

During the exercise, the radar troops provided PLA fighter planes precision guidance enabling them to destroy mock enemy warplanes that attempted to launch an assault.

The successful exercise indicates that the PLA's radar troops armed with a new-type of mobile radar are capable of working under all-weather conditions, according to Navy sources.

The detachment had centered its training on speedy maneuvers over hilly areas, under complicated weather conditions, and in nighttime. After repeated drills in unfamiliar areas, the troops are now able to setup and withdraw their radar system within minutes.
