font size

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Qin Gang said here on Thursday that no single case of commercialized production of genetically-modified (GM) rice has so far been approved in China.

Qin made the remarks at a regular press conference when asked to comment on recent reports by foreign media that some GM rice from China has been sold to the European Union.

Qin emphasized that China adopts a scientific approach in the experiments of GM rice and supervises its production in accordance with law.
