Singapore shares end higher

The shares prices in Singapore closed higher on Friday with the benchmark Straits Times Index ( STI) rising 4.7 points to end at 2,510.1 points.

The overall volume stood at 782.1 million shares worth 726.4 million Singapore dollars (about 462.2 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers led losers by 267 to 234 with another 757 remained unchanged.

On Thursday, the benchmark Straits Times Index fell 21.1 points to end at 2,505.4 points.
