Australian dollar closes much weaker

The Australian dollar closed much lower at 75.74 U.S. cents Friday compared with Thursday's close of 76.67.

During the day's session, the currency reached a high of 76.03 U.S. cents and a low of 75.58.

It finished at 87.94 yen from Thursday's close of 89.45 yen and at 59.51 euro cents from 59.79.
