China to expand industry security database to strengthen monitoring system
font size

China will expand its industry security database to better guarantee the country's industrial security, Xinhua learned from the Ministry of Commerce.

The industries being monitored will expand from auto, chemical fertilizers and four other sectors to 10 industries, including petrochemical, machine-building, building material, light industry and textile, according to Song Heping, deputy director of the ministry's Industrial Damage Investigation Department.

The number of enterprises monitored will increase from current 500 to 10,000 and the number of indices to be monitored will grow from 27 to 142.

China established a national industry early warning and monitoring system in 2001, which covered key enterprises and 456 categories of important commodities.
