Females leading good life in Beijing

Females in Beijing spend an average 10.3 years receiving an education and their life expectancy is 81.76 years, according the latest survey conducted by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics and Beijing Investigation Team directed by the National Bureau of Statistics. The survey shows that the number of female college students in Beijing was as high as 262,700 in 2005. At the end of last year, employed women made up 41.5 percent of the entire female population, or 66 percent if including reemployed females. Females account for over 50 percent of employees in 4 of Beijing's 19 new industries, working in areas such as accommodation, food & beverage, finance, education, and social insurance & welfare.
