Pakistan, China ties time-test: Pakistani official

The NWFP Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Sardar Muhammad Idrees has felicitated the people of Peoples Republic of China on their 57th anniversary, saying that Pakistan and China relations are excellent and will further consolidate with the passage of time.

He was addressing the Pak-China photo exhibition ceremony held at Nishtar hall Peshawar. The exhibition was arranged by China Embassy to mark its 57th anniversary, which was attended by Cultural Counselor of China Shan Boaxing, Secretary Culture NWFP, artists and people of all walks of life.

The Minister said Pak-China Friendship was time tested and would be strengthened in future. He said China had always helped Pakistan, particularly at odd times, and added that China's help and cooperation during earthquake period was a brilliant example in this regard.

He said China was completing many development projects in Pakistan. He said Forex reserves of China had crossed the level of 520 billion dollars which would produce a positive impact on Pakistan economy as well.

He said a plot had already been pledged by NWFP Chief Minister for setting up of Pak-China Friendship Association office. Its documents would be handed over to the Governor of Sinkiang China on his arrival to Peshawar next month.

The ceremony was also addressed by Chinese Consular. Earlier, Minister inaugurated the exhibition by cutting the tape.
