Chinese financial minister meets WB president

China's Minister of Finance Jin Renqing met with World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz in Singapore Friday, discussing issues including challenges in fulfilling Millennium Target and bilateral cooperation.

Jin said that the World Bank (WB) has made great efforts to promote global poverty-alleviation and realize Millennium Target. China is willing to improve its cooperation with the World Bank.

Wolfowitz praised China for its huge achievements in economic development and poverty-alleviation efforts.

He said that the cooperation between the World Bank and China has set a good example for the world.

Jin and Wolfowitz are here to attend the IMF and World Bank annual meetings to be opened next week.
