Italian PM arrives in Beijing, continuing his China tour

Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi arrived in Beijing Sunday afternoon, continuing his 5-leg China visit.

During his stay in Beijing, Prodi is scheduled to meet or hold talks with Chinese President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao. The two prime ministers will also visit an Italian art and design exhibition in the National Art Museum of China.

Beijing is the last leg of Prodi's six-day China tour. Prior to his arrival in the Chinese capital, Prodi visited Nanjing Shanghai, Guangzhou and Tianjin.

This is Prodi's first China visit after he assumed the office of prime minister in May.
