font size

China's Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan has asked government departments to provide better services for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and create a favorable environment for their development.

Zeng said that SMEs have great economic vitality and constitute an important part of China's national economy.

He said government departments should make extensive efforts to promote labor-intensive industry and the service, manufacturing and high technology industries, which the SMEs are mostly involved in.

Zeng asked the departments to improve coordination, make efforts to broaden and regulate market access for SMEs and ease their financial difficulties.

The Vice Premier also asked government officials to focus on quality rather than quantity of SMEs and help SMEs to realize sustainable development.

He also demanded that the SMEs pay more attention to social responsibilities in their pursuit of economic profit, standardize business activities and guarantee employees' rights.
