Conference held in Beijing to mark CFFPD 10th anniversary

A conference on "safeguarding world peace and building a harmonious society" was held in Beijing on Thursday to mark the 10th anniversary of China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development (CFFPD).

Gu Xiulian, Vice-Chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and Xu Kuangdi, Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended the conference.

Chen Haosu, president of the the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), said public appreciation of the foundation's work should extend to donor generosity, stressing the real heroes were the donors who were committed to philanthropy and other charitable work.

More than 30 international organizations, multinationals and individuals were honored for their contributions to world peace and development.
