A Chilean senate delegation headed by its President Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle will pay an official goodwill visit to China from Sept. 23 to 29.
The delegation is to visit the country at the invitation of Wu Bangguo, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, who visited Chile from Sept 5 to 7.
The visit will come amid growing cooperation between the two countries, especially in trade and politics.
In 1970, Chile became the first south American country to establish diplomatic ties with China. The two have since signed more than 20 treaties covering areas of trade, science, technology, cultural exchanges and protection of investment.
