Beijing's major industrial enterprises recorded 110.74 billion yuan (14 billion U.S. dollars) in value-added output in the first eight months of this year, a year-on-year growth of 15.9 percent at constant prices.

According to the municipal statistical bureau, the growth rate was 0.6 percentage points lower than the Jan.-July. level.

Between January and August, electronics manufacturers recorded 20.17 billion yuan (2.6 billion U.S. dollars) in value-added output, up 40.8 percent, and transport equipment producers chalked up 10.35 billion yuan (1.3 billion U.S. dollars), up 18.8 percent.

The eight-month period saw Beijing produce 437,000 motor vehicles, up 12.5 percent. The growth rate was 1.5 percentage points lower than the Jan.-July. level, the bureau said.
