    Yemeni president re-elected

    Incumbent Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh has won Wednesday's presidential election with more than 77 percent of the vote, the state-run TV reported on Saturday.

    Bird Protection in wildlife rescue station

    Photo taken on Sept. 21, 2006 shows birds in the Huanghuagang Wetland in Cangzhou, north China's Hebei Province. Meng Derong, a biology associate professor, and many local volunteers have ringed at least 4,000 migratory birds in years for regular observation and monitoring. They have established a wildlife rescue station, saving more than 280 injured birds of nearly 40 species.

    China, Tajikistan joint anti terror drill concludes

Some 300 Tajik troops and 150 Chinese troops practiced a coordinated response to possible terrorist attacks during the drills code-named "Coordination 2006."
