Chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region Edmund Ho Haw Wah Saturday met with delegations from seven Portuguese-speaking countries to discuss how to play a better role in connecting China with the Portuguese-speaking world.
The seven delegations, which come from Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal and Timor Leste, are here to attend the 2nd Minister Conference of the Forum on Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-Speaking countries opening on Sunday.
Since its establishment in 2003, the forum has been serving as a platform for economic and trade cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries and strengthened the relationship of the two sides.
Macao has played a successful role in bridging China and Portuguese-speaking countries not only in economy and trade but also in culture, delegation members said. They hoped Macao could continue to make its contribution to the cooperation between China and their countries.
