Chinese state councilor arrives in Macao for economic forum

Chinese State Councilor Hua Jianmin arrived in Macao on Saturday to attend the Second Ministerial Conference of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and the Portuguese speaking Countries, which is slated to kick off here on Sunday.

The government of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) held a brief reception for Hua, who is also secretary-general of the State Council, at the Macao International airport, and children presented bouquets to the senior official.

Those present at the airport included chief executive of the MSAR Edmund Ho Hau Wah, Minister of Commerce Bo Xilai, and deputy director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council Chen Zuo' er.

Ho Hau Wah hosted a welcome banquet later in the day for Hua and the Chinese delegation.
