Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus arrived in Beijing on Moncay from Shanghai where he starts his visit to China on Sunday.

At the invitation of Chinese President Hu Jintao, Valdas Adamkus is here for a 5-day state visit. This is his first visit to China since he was elected president.

Valdas Adamkus said he hopes his visit will promote friendly communications between Lithuania and China. He also hopes his visit will encourage more Chinese entrepreneurs to invest his country.

He will deliver a key-note speech at a Beijing-Lithuania economic and trade seminar.
