Saint Lucia's Governor-General Pearlette Louisy and Prime Minister Kenny Davis Anthony held talks with visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing on Monday, during which the two sides hailed the bilateral cooperation and friendly ties, reports reaching here said.

Both Louisy and Anthony said people on the Caribbean island nation felt the respect, friendship and sincerity from their Chinese friends and were grateful for China's assistance in Saint Lucia's economic and social development.

They called it the right choice for Saint Lucia to further develop ties with China and said the island country would continue to adhere to the one-China policy.

For his part, Li said China would like to expand cooperation with Saint Lucia in such fields as trade, tourism, culture, education and to enhance coordination on international affairs.
