Macao holds int'l seminar on Confucianism

The 3rd International Seminar on Confucianism opened on Tuesday in Macao.

Xu Jialu, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC), attended the opening ceremony and launched a speech titled "What could China Dedicated."

Those also present at the ceremony included Ma Man Kei, vice- chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Wang Jinxiang, deputy director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR), and Wan Yongxiang, special commissioner of the Foreign Ministry in the MSAR.

Some 150 scholars and experts from China and overseas attended the two-day seminar.

The maiden version of the seminar was launched in Malaysia in 2004 and the second in Hong Kong of China in 2005.
