Eight 10-million ton iron and steel plants in China

Liu Zhenjiang, Deputy Director of China's Iron & Steel Association said at a meeting held in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, that there are eight 10-million ton iron and steel plants, seventeen 5-million ton plants and more than thirty 3-million-ton plants in China.

According to the report dated September 25, a new stainless steel production line with an annual production capacity of 2 million tons opened just days ago.

Including this plant the annual amount of stainless steel produced by one particular company, Taiyuan Iron & Steel (Group) Company Ltd. will reach three million tons, the biggest in the world.
