President Valdas Adamkus of the Republic of Lithuania left here Thursday, concluding his five-day state visit as guest of Chinese President Hu Jintao.

Adamkus arrived in China's economic hub of Shanghai on Sunday, and then left for a visit to the capital city of Beijing one day later.

During his stay in Beijing, Adamkus met with Chinese top leaders Hu Jintao, Wu Bangguo and Wen Jiabao, respectively. The two sides agreed to enhance bilateral exchanges and cooperation, and to push China-Lithuania relations to a new high.

Economic and trade cooperation was also atop the agenda of the visit, during which Adamkus attended a series of trade seminars in Shanghai and Beijing.
