A delegation of members from the United Nations Program of Fellowships on Disarmament, including young diplomats from 30 countries, paid their first visit to China on Thursday.
During their stay in Beijing, they held talks with experts from the Arms Control and Disarmament Department of China's Foreign Ministry and the China Arms Control and Disarmament Association.
The delegation was led by officials from the UN Department for Disarmament and comprised members from Egypt, Iran, India, Mexico, the United States, Russia and Japan.
Officials from the UN Department for Disarmament voiced the hope that China would receive more members from the UN program so as to step up communication between the two sides.
They also visited the China Institute of Atomic Energy and attractions in the capital.
From 1978, the UN Program of Fellowships on Disarmament has provided training for more than 550 officials from 160 countries on disarmament affairs.
