font size

The Chinese Embassy in Malaysia on Thursday hosted a reception to mark the 57th birthday of the People's Republic of China.

More than 600 people, representing the Malaysian government, foreign embassies in Malaysia, overseas Chinese and Chinese companies based in this tropical country, gathered here for the occasion.

After the national anthems of the two countries were played, Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Cheng Yonghua and Malaysian Minister of Human Resources Fong Chan Onn proposed a toast to the prosperity of the two countries and the happiness of the two peoples.

With the traditional "Chinese red" as the most eye-catching color, the reception hall was decorated with red lanterns and red antependium. Many Chinese Malaysian organizations and Chinese companies based in Malaysia presented baskets of flowers.
