China's embassy to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Friday held a banquet to celebrate the 57th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Yang Hyong-sop, DPRK's deputy head legislator, delivered warm congratulations to the Chinese people on behalf of the DPRK government.

"Two countries have a traditional relationship, I believe the DPRK and China will have a better prospect for closer cooperation in the future,"said Yang.

"The past 57 years have witnessed the earthshaking changes taken place in China," said Liu Xiaoming, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK.

"China and the DPRK are friendly neighbors," said Liu, adding that "it is a firm and consistent policy of the Chinese Communist Party and Chinese government to further strengthen and develop the friendship and cooperation between China and the DPRK."
