All candidates for recruitment into China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) will now have to undergo psychological testing, the PLA Headquarters has announced.
The tests have been piloted in more than 400 cities and counties since 2002, involving more than 100,000 applicants, according to the Ministry of Defense recruitment office.
The National Technical Center for Psychological Testing has been set up in the Fourth PLA Medical University, to be responsible for drawing up the tests and establishing their criteria.
