60 suffering from diarrhea in central Nepal
font size

More than 60 people are ill after diarrhea took epidemic proportions in Kavre district in central Nepal, the National News Agency RSS reported Wednesday.

Most of them suffering from the disease are undergoing medical treatment at the Mahadevtar village, some 100 km east of Kathmandu, while some were taken to the Scheer Memorial Hospital in Banepa in the district.

The village was caught by the epidemic two months ago but as it was not controlled completely, its re-emergence led to the present situation, the RSS reported.

Lack of health workers in the village is said to have hampered the treatment of those affected. They are undergoing medical treatment locally and 10 of them are in a serious condition.
