Dengue fever, which has killed more than 60 people in the Indian capital and affected over 6,000, can now be diagnosed in Nepal, a statement issued by the National Reference Laboratory said.

According to the National News Agency RSS Monday's report, the laboratory said in a statement that it is well equipped to diagnose dengue viral at its laboratory in Kathmandu. The laboratory can furnish the results within 20 hours.

The fever caused by mosquito bite is common during summer and rainy seasons in the Terai region in southern Nepal, chief of the laboratory Chintamani Sharma said.

High temperature, pain in muscles and joints, vomiting and dizziness are the symptoms of dengue fever.

The virus, which is also seen along the Indo-Nepal border, can be prevented by maintaining cleanliness and staying away from garbage, contaminated water and ponds.
