China's top trade union leader Wang Zhaoguo said Thursday the trade unions of all countries should strengthen cooperation to better protect the legitimate rights of working people.
Wang, president of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, made the remark in a meeting with visiting President of Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation Jean-Claude Reding.
Wang said as the economic globalization is still going on and the world working people face many common problems, the world trade unions should strengthen cooperation.
Wang hailed the smooth development of relations between China and Luxembourg since they established diplomatic ties 34 years ago, adding China appreciates the Luxembourg's government's adherence to the one-China policy.
He said the friendly cooperation between the two countries' trade unions has developed continuously and made positive achievements and he believed Reding's visit will further bilateral friendly relations.
Reding said it is very important to keep exchanges between trade unions of different countries and the Luxembourg trade unions hope to keep and further the good relations and cooperation with the Chinese side.
He said through this visit his delegation members have deepened their understanding of China in many aspects.
The Luxembourg trade union delegation arrived here on Oct. 1 and it visited the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Shaanxi Province and Shanghai.
