Macao's Commission Against Corruption (CAC) has received over 500 complaints and inquiries in the first three quarters, local media reported Tuesday.
The Macao Post Daily quoted Cheong U, head of the CAC, as saying that the number of cases has risen steadily due to the efforts that the CAC has made to broaden its communication channels.
Among the raised cases, 40 have resulted in formal investigations and 15 involved in alleged criminal offenses, the official told the newspaper.
The CAC was set up in 1992 and the region has a population of 503,000.
