Members of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) and the Chinese People's Armed Police (PAP) have been asked to donate money or warm clothing to people living in areas that have been badly affected by natural disasters this year.

The PLA General Political Department issued this decree Wednesday and urged service people to play a leading role in the current nationwide donation campaign.

The donated money and clothing will be distributed via the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
