Two senior Shanghai officials are working with relevant authorities for an investigation into the social security fund scandal in the city, the municipal government source said Tuesday.
Ling Baoheng, director of Shanghai's State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, and Wu Hongmei, a deputy director at the same commission, are "assisting the investigation," a government press officer told reporters.
Chen Liangyu, former secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, had been removed from his post for involvement in the social security fund scandal, and is now under investigation.
