Between January and September, urbanites in the province spent 10,134 yuan (1,283 U.S. dollars) per capita, up 8.3 percent, and rural residents spent 4,029 yuan (510 U.S. dollars) per capita, up 7.8 percent.

The growth in urbanites' expenses went down by 5.1 percentage points from a year earlier, while spending by rural residents declined 2.5 percentage points.
