Laotian Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavan said on Wednesday in Nanning that his country wanted to expand cooperation with China in such areas as tourism and human resources.
Laos and China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region are close neighbors, and huge potentials remain untapped to explore tourism cooperation between the two sides, Bouasone said during a meeting with Guangxi Governor Lu Bing.
There is also a bright prospect for cooperation in training human resources between Laos and Guangxi, Bouasone added.
Guangxi and Laos have a strong complementarity in market and industrial structures. Laos is abundant in mineral resources, hydropower, and forest resources, which lay a solid foundation for future cooperation, Lu said.
Guangxi is willing to give more assistance to Laos in terms of human resources training, Lu added.
Bouasone, along with other leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, attended the commemorative summit marking the 15th anniversary of the China-ASEAN dialogue relations, the third China-ASEAN Expo, and the third China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit on Monday and Tuesday.
