The success of the summit commemorating the 15th anniversary of the dialogue partnership between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations ( ASEAN) will improve the China-ASEAN cooperation to a higher level, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said here on Wednesday.

Chinese and ASEAN leaders agreed at the summit to push the dialogue relationship to a new strategic high, which will surely contribute to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world as a whole, said Dung while addressing a forum on economic cooperation between Vietnam and China.

The leaders have also reached consensus on further accelerating the establishment of the China-ASEAN free trade area and facilitating the liberalization of service trade and investment, he added.

The outcomes from the summit will help ASEAN nations including Vietnam develop the mutually beneficial cooperation with China in a more effective, comprehensive and vigorous way, he noted.

The China-ASEAN commemorative summit was held on Monday in Nanning, capital of China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, drawing the attendance of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and leaders from all the 10 ASEAN countries.
