Equatorial Guinean President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo arrived here Wednesday evening for the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

The two-day summit is scheduled to start on Nov. 4. A total of 48 African countries that have diplomatic relations with China are to participate in the summit.

Equatorial Guinea established diplomatic relations with China on October 15, 1970. President Obiang paid two visits to China in 2001 and 2005. In 2002, Xu Jialu, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, visited Equatorial Guinea.

The trade between China and Equatorial Guinea totaled 1.457 billion U.S. dollars in 2005.
