Henry Fok's funeral ceremony set on Nov. 7 in HK

The 74-member funeral committee for Henry Fok Ying-tung, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), announced here Wednesday in an obituary notice that a memorial service for Fok was scheduled in the Hong Kong Funeral Home on Nov. 7.

Fok passed away in Beijing on Saturday at the age of 84. His national flag-draped coffin was flown back to Hong Kong on Tuesday via special plane from Beijing.

A name list of a 74-member funeral committee for Fok was also published Wednesday with Wang Zhongyu, vice chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC, as its chairman.

Fok was an outstanding public figure, renowned patriot, famous businessman, and close friend of the Communist Party of China.

The Hong Kong business tycoon served three terms as vice chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC, or the country's top advisory body. He was also honorary president of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.
