font size

Seychellois President James Alix Michel arrived in Beijing on Wednesday, kicking off his state visit to China.

While in Beijing, Michel will hold talks with his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao and meet with top legislator Wu Bangguo and Premier Wen Jiabao respectively.

The president will also attend the Beijing Summit of Forum on China-Africa Cooperation scheduled for Nov. 4 to 5.

After the summit, Michel is to visit Changsha, capital city of central China's Hunan province, and Haikou, capital city of China's southernmost Hainan province.

Seychelles is one of China's government-approved outbound tourist destinations. Bilateral trade has been growing rapidly, with trade volume totaling 3.41 million U.S. dollars in 2005.
