font size

Burundian President Pierre Nkurunziza said Wednesday in Shenzhen that Burundi will take an opening-up policy and welcome more investment from Chinese enterprises.

Nkurunziza visited Shenzhen, a booming city in China's southern Guangdong Province, on Wednesday. In a meeting with Vice Mayor Liu Yingli, Nkurunziza said Burundi is striving for economic development and will take an opening-up policy in agriculture and mining.

The president also voiced his hope to learn advanced technology from China and see more investment in Burundi from Chinese companies.

He also appreciated China's assistance to his country over the years.

During his stay in Shenzhen, Nkurunziza visited Huawei Corp., a leading telecom facilities provider and watched a performance featuring Chinese ethnic groups.
