Police authorities in southwest China's Yunnan Province have arrested three suspects in connection with an explosion that killed two villagers and injured 17 others two weeks ago.

Tao Xiaowu and his two sons, from Huangmaoling village in Yuanyang County, are suspected of throwing four homemade bombs into a crowd on the evening of Oct. 18, according to the Public Security Bureau in Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture of Honghe on Thursday.

Tao Xiaowu and his son Tao Zhirong were arrested by police on Oct, 19. Tao's other son Tao Zhiyang, who fled after the bombing, was arrested by police on Oct. 31, according to Hongge prefectural public security bureau.

A preliminary investigation by the public security authorities shows that Tao's wife had feuded with a woman who was in the crowd when the blast went off, according to police authorities.

Local police said two male villagers of Huangmaoling village were killed in the blast. Police said the woman the attack was aimed at was not injured.

The investigation is continuing.
