Yong Zhansheng has been ousted from his post as deputy procurator-general of Beijing Municipal People's Procuratorate for alleged "serious irregularities" of official disciplinary codes.

Yong has been replaced by another person identified as Lu Xi, according to a decision made at the 32nd meeting of the Standing Committee of the 12th Beijing Municipal People's Congress held on Friday.

Information from the congress gave no further details about the nature of Yong's alleged breach of discipline.

Yong was formerly a member of the elite Party group of the Municipal People's Procuratorate and director of the political affairs section of the procuratorate. He was promoted to the post of deputy procurator-general in July 2003.
