Six persons including two policemen were injured in two bombing blasts in Tak Bai district of Narathiwat province in southern Thailand Saturday night, a source told Xinhua Sunday.
The bombings took place separately at around 11:00 p.m. local time on Saturday night at a Karaoke club and another nearby site about 450 meters away, the source said, adding that two policemen and four civilians were injured in the bombings.
The bombers disguised themselves as Karaoke clients and hid a five-kg bomb at the club as they knew local policemen frequently visited the entertainment institutions like Karaoke clubs, according to the source.
Narathiwat, Yala and Pattani, the three southernmost provinces in Thailand has seen continued insurgent unrest that has killed more than 1,700 people since it re-emerged in January 2004.
